I believe that volunteerism is a way to give back and a way to pay it forward to a profession that has given me a renewed purpose in life and given me stability in life.
Volunteering with the ASRT has afforded me to develop lifelong friendships with some awesome people.
As an educator I instill th importance and benefits of volunteerism in my rad tech students both within the professional organizations as well as in their communities where they live and work.
I volunteer with the ASRT because I believe strongly in giving back to the profession that has given me so much.
I want to be part of the process.
It's challenging and time-comsuming, but our patients and our profession are worth it.
To be honest, it paints me when I hear someone say, "Someone should do that."
My
response is "Be that someone."
Our future depends on technologists who dare to care a little louder and lead a little stronger
