ASRT Will Transition to Digital Delivery of all CE Offerings

Oct 27, 2021

Our profession continuously evolves as technology advances and new best practices are established. Radiologic technologists across all disciplines have relied on continuing education to keep up with innovations and to deliver the very best patient care. Since CE requirements were established in 1995, ASRT has provided CE through Directed Readings in its scientific journals, a format that worked for all.

However, the way the world shares information has evolved. Technologists have unique CE requirements depending on their certifications, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CQR prescription, state licensure rules, and facility and regulatory CE needs. As such, delivering CE options by mail every other month is not meeting our members’ diverse CE requirements.

To address these challenges, ASRT is changing its CE delivery method. Starting on Feb. 8, 2022, all ASRT members will gain access to our online CE Library of more than 450 courses. New Directed Readings will be published exclusively online and will no longer be published in our scientific journals. Please note that the journals will continue to arrive in the mail containing the outstanding peer-reviewed articles, short reports and case studies you’ve come to expect.

The online delivery of CE will better serve the needs of ASRT members today and in the future. It will allow us to quickly provide solutions to rapidly changing requirements and offer members an expanded catalog of CE choices in a convenient, on-demand platform. This transition is an important step to ensure ASRT continues its mission to advance and elevate the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession and to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.

I encourage you to visit the informational web page, asrt.org/uniqueCE, and learn how this transition provides you with expanded access to CE credits. The page also outlines new benefit enhancements to make membership even more valuable. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our Member Services team at 800-444-2778 or memberservices@asrt.org, weekdays from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mountain time.

Regards,
