Read to Me!

ASRT is proud to give back to the communities that welcome our annual conferences, and this year is no exception.

We are excited to partner with Read to Me! ABQ Network, a regionwide, independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to inspiring early childhood literacy. For more than 25 years, Read to Me! has collected and distributed hundreds of thousands of books to children across New Mexico—placing them in schools, learning centers, Little Free Libraries, food pantries, community centers, laundromats, and even on Albuquerque buses and the New Mexico Rail Runner.

Today, their mission is more focused than ever:
to encourage parents and caregivers to hold, read, and sing to young children as often as possible.

With this in mind, we invite you to help us make a meaningful impact.

How You Can Help

Bring a new book (or more!) for children ages 0–5 with you to Albuquerque.

ASRT Museum and Archives

Discover the inspiring story of a profession that changed the world! The ASRT Museum and Archives offers a truly unique journey through the evolution of medical imaging and radiation therapy—from the moment the x-ray was discovered to the cuttingedge innovations of today.

Come experience it for yourself!

On Sunday, June 28, enjoy free shuttle service between the Albuquerque Convention Center and the ASRT office, beautifully situated in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. After exploring the museum’s immersive exhibits, cool off with a refreshing treat from the Kona Ice truck parked right outside.

  • First shuttle departs the convention center: 10:00 a.m.
  • Last shuttle leaves the ASRT office: 3:30 p.m.

Fun fact: The ASRT office sits right on historic Central Avenue—once a proud stretch of the iconic Route 66!

Meet Michael John Benzaia From the ASRT Be Seen Campaign!

ASRT member Michael John Benzaia, M.B.A., R.T.(R)(CT), is a radiologic technologist and actor and has more than 15 years of experience in the medical imaging profession. His experience as an actor and caring for patients has helped him make his onscreen roles convincing in shows like “General Hospital,” “Law & Order” and the current ASRT Be Seen campaign. Michael will attend the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting. You can catch his talk at the ASRT Update or at the ASRT booth on Friday, June 29.
