FAQ Educator Institute

• How do I find the coursework for ASRT's Educator Institute?

  Only selected participants of Educator Institute can access and complete the coursework.

• How many people are accepted into the ASRT Educator Institute program?

  15 educators will be selected to participate.

• Do I have to be an ASRT member to be accepted into the program?

  Yes, candidates must be an ASRT member to be considered for a seat in Educator Institute.

• How much does ASRT's Educator Institute cost?

  There are no costs or fees associated with the official Educator Institute program. Participants who choose to spend more time in Albuquerque after the program will need to pay for their hotel, food and beverage only for those extra days. Regardless, airfare to and from Albuquerque is paid for by ASRT.

• How does the program work?

  Program participants will complete 5 self-directed online learning modules during the first part of the program. The group of educators will then be flown out to ASRT’s headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico to complete the program. Over 1.5 days, they will meet with ASRT staff and participate in additional educational coursework.

• If selected, will I receive continuing education credits for completing ASRT's Educator Institute?

  Yes, continuing education credit will be offered for completion of the online coursework and some of the in-house coursework.

• Do graduates of ASRT's Educator Institute receive a certificate of completion for the program?

  Yes, participants will receive an ASRT Communities ribbon and a certificate of completion to celebrate their achievement.

• Do I need to be associated with a medical imaging or radiation therapy program?

  Applicants must be an educator currently working for, or with a medical imaging or radiation therapy program as a program director, clinical coordinator, or clinical instructor. Applicants who have previously worked for, or with a medical imaging or radiation therapy program, who are now in a role such as dean or provost also can be considered for the Educator Institute program.

• Should I provide personal references with my application or in my application statement?

  No, the ASRT Educator Institute selection committee wants to hear from you, why you are the best candidate for the program. Personal references will not be considered as part of the application.

• What makes a good application statement?

  Application statements must hit the 250-500-word count for you to be considered for the program. Additionally, the ASRT selections committee wants to know why you want to attend Educator Institute. What is your intent for the coursework? What is your teaching philosophy? What specific knowledge gaps do you want to close? Tell us what we don’t already know about you from the rest of your application.
