Apr 7, 2026, 10:44 AM by ASRT

The ASRT Foundation recently awarded the Hologic Mammography Scholarship to five ASRT members, totaling more than $17,000 dollars. The 2026 scholarship recipients are Cherelle Anselmo, R.T.(R), of Las Vegas; Lexie Fitzgerald, of Kamus, Utah; Kaela Hernandez, of Jonesboro, Tennessee; Désirée Mourad, R.T.(R), of Fontana, California; and Monica Telles, R.T.(R), of San Antonio.

The scholarship, sponsored by Hologic®, a leading innovator in women’s health, provides financial support to radiographers pursuing the educational and clinical requirements to become eligible for the mammography certification exam. This includes assistance with education, travel and clinical placement, as needed.

“Based on customer concerns about the shortage of mammographers entering the profession, together with the ASRT Foundation, we are funding this scholarship to help remove barriers for technologists pursuing certification in mammography,” said Kim Larkin, director of clinical services and strategic partnerships for Hologic®.

Hologic® develops medical technologies that detect, diagnose and treat health conditions. Hologic® is primarily focused on women's health, and its goal is to provide all women access to the technologies they develop.
