Native geolocation + Google
with IP location fallback

Free. 10 queries per second. 100,000 queries per day.

  • Automatically replace existing generic content (ads, text) with location-specific content if available.
  • Country code is stored in a cookie to minimize external lookups.
  1. Native browser geolocation passes latitude/longitude to Google. Google looks up the country based on lat/long. Native geolocation is supported by all current browsers.
  2. If geolocation is unavailable or refused, a 3rd party (wipmania.com) gathers the location via IP address.
  3. A fallback of generic content always exists in case the 3rd party fails or we choose not to use them.
