ASRT Announces Results of 2018 Election

Members of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists have elected four officers to serve on the 2018-2019 ASRT Board of Directors.


Stephanie JohnstonStephanie Johnston, M.S.R.S., R.T.(R)(M)(BD)(BS), FASRT, of Holliday, Texas, was elected to serve as ASRT’s president-elect. She will serve one term as president-elect, one term as president and one term as chairman of the Board, in accordance with ASRT Bylaws. Johnston is the director of the Breast Center of Texoma in Wichita Falls, Texas. She currently serves as the Board’s vice president.


Mike OdgrenMike Odgren, B.S., R.R.A., R.P.A., R.T.(R)(CT), will serve as vice president. He is an advanced practice radiographer at Diversified Radiology of Colorado in Lakewood. He currently serves as the chairman of the ASRT Commission.


Danny GonzalesDaniel Gonzales, M.S.R.S., R.T.(R), FASRT, will serve as treasurer. He manages the radiology department at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was the vice speaker of the ASRT House of Delegates from 2004-2006.


Kristi MooreKristi Moore, Ph.D., R.T.(R)(CT), will serve as secretary. Dr. Moore is the radiologic sciences department chair and associate professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.


The new officers will begin their one-year terms immediately following the conclusion of the 2018 ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting, June 22-24, in Las Vegas.

“ASRT members participate in an annual election process to choose the radiologic technologists who make decisions that affect the ASRT and the profession,” said ASRT CEO and Executive Director Sal Martino, Ed.D., R.T.(R), FASRT, FASAE, CAE. “This open election process has resulted in a history of a strong Board of Directors and House of Delegates featuring R.T.s who dedicate a tremendous amount of time and effort to making sure decisions are made in the best interest of the Society, its members and the profession.”

Following the meeting, current President-elect Melissa B. Jackowski, Ed.D., R.T.(R)(M), will become the ASRT president for the 2018-2019 term, and current President Amanda Garlock, M.S., R.T.(R)(MR), will be elevated to chairman of the Board.

Voters also elected 29 members to serve in the ASRT House of Delegates. Terms for the newly elected chapter delegates will begin immediately following the conclusion of the 2018 House of Delegates meeting. A complete list of the newly elected chapter delegates will be published on ASRT's website in the near future.

More than 2,000 ASRT members cast votes for officer and delegate positions in the 2018 ASRT election, for which polls were open from Feb. 13 through March 6. Survey & Ballot Systems, an independent election management service based in Minnesota, managed the election process. Results of the balloting were independently certified by SBS on March 7.
