Idaho Legislature Sees R.T. Licensure Bill

A licensure bill supported by the Idaho Society of Radiologic Technologists was introduced in the Idaho House on March 23.

House Bill 325 was introduced by the House Ways and Means Committee and will create licensure for radiographers, radiation therapists, nuclear medicine technologists, sonographers, magnetic resonance technologists, radiologist assistants and limited x-ray machine operators who perform medical imaging examinations or radiation therapy treatments on Idaho patients.

The bill also will create an Idaho Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Examiners to issue licenses and establish licensure standards
