New Member Benefit Offers More CE Options

Dec 05, 2016

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists has launched the Directed Reading Flex Plan, a new benefit that allows members to access continuing education materials quickly and in content areas of their choice. New and existing members who select this option will have immediate access to a library of Directed Reading articles that cover a wide variety of medical imaging and radiation therapy topics.

The Directed Reading Flex Plan solves a common problem facing radiologic technologists: securing practice-specific CE content to meet their registration or state licensure requirements. For example, R.T.s in some states need CE credit specific to digital imaging content. The Directed Reading Flex Plan provides a solution for this group, as members can choose articles approved for digital imaging credit and immediately take the CE quizzes.

“The Directed Reading Flex Plan alleviates the frustration of many R.T.s when it comes to continuing education.” said ASRT Associate Executive Director Myke Kudlas, M.Ed., R.T.(R)(QM), CIIP, PMP. “As national, state and institutional CE requirements evolve, R.T.s can use the Directed Reading Flex Plan to immediately find the CE they need to meet these requirements.”

The library of courses available through the Directed Reading Flex Plan continues to grow and additional content is continuously being added, including courses worth .25 and .5 credits. Members choosing the plan also will continue to receive ASRT publications and journals in the mail.

ASRT members aren’t obligated to opt in to the Directed Reading Flex Plan. Members who are satisfied with their current membership plan will see no change in their benefits and can still access CE offered in the ASRT Radiologic Technology and Radiation Therapist journals and purchase additional CE courses and modules in the ASRT Store. Moreover, ASRT will continue to track and transfer members’ CE records to the ARRT and other select certification agencies regardless of which plan they choose.

There is no additional charge for ASRT members to access the Directed Reading Flex Plan. New members can select the Directed Reading Flex Plan during the online join process. Current members can select the plan during their renewal process by contacting ASRT Member Services at 800-444-2778. For more information, please visit www.asrt.org/flex.

Seems I have the same question as everyone, why can't I access the directed readings that I just completed from the Rad Tech journal that I just received...? did I make a mistake in signing up for this Flex plan. I would appreciate an email reply.
