NH Licensure Bill Moves Forward

Mar 31, 2016

New Hampshire Senate Bill 330, a bipartisan bill that would create a board of medical imaging and radiation therapy, has moved closer to enactment. The measure recently passed the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee by a 16-2 vote.

S.B. 330 will create licensure standards for radiation therapists, radiographers, magnetic resonance technologists, nuclear medicine technologists, radiologist assistants, sonographers and limited x-ray machine operators. S.B. 330 passed the New Hampshire Senate on Feb. 18 and has been scheduled for floor action in the House of Representatives on April 6.

The ASRT and the New Hampshire Society of Radiologic Technologists, under the leadership of President Brandy Cusson, A.S., R.T.(R), support the enactment of S.B. 330 and encourage medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in New Hampshire to contact their state representatives and ask them to support the bill.
