Health Professions Week Offers Advice to Students, Career Seekers

Nov 14, 2019

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists will participate in a week-long, national event designed to help students and others discover careers in the health professions Nov. 16-21.

Health Professions Week 2019 is a series of free online and on-demand events for students and others seeking to explore a career in the health professions. Participants may take part in educational and interactive activities throughout the week such as a virtual fair, health talks with professionals, panels with industry representatives and an online treasure hunt. The event will also offer tips on obtaining financial aid and how to pay for school. The event reached more than 7,000 students in 2018.

Registrants will receive access to a personalized website with on-demand content introducing the participating health professions, as well as access to exclusive live events featuring opportunities for one-on-one career advice. Registered technologists from the staff of ASRT will provide personalized, real-time career counseling for those seeking information about the medical imaging and radiation therapy professions.

There is no cost for students or student advisors to register for the event. The virtual career fair is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21.
