Missouri Licensure Bill Introduced

Jan 25, 2019

Senate Bill 303, introduced on Jan. 24 in the Missouri Senate, would create a Missouri Radiologic Imaging and Radiation Therapy Advisory Committee under the state Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. The committee would establish education and certification licensure standards for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in the state. The bill is sponsored by Sen. Jeanie Riddle, Chairwoman of the Committee on Professional Registration.

The Missouri Society of Radiologic Technologists supports the proposal and is mobilizing radiologic technologists to attend a rally at the state capitol in Jefferson City on Feb. 12. R.T.s will be briefed on the bill and then speak in person with legislators to ask for their support.

The ASRT supports the measure, as it would establish consistent education and certification standards for the state’s medical imaging and radiation therapy personnel.
