ASRT Commits $1 Million to Affiliate Societies

Jun 29, 2018

ASRT is committing $1 million over the next three years to support new Affiliate Financial Assistance Program initiatives. ASRT has more than 50 active affiliate partners throughout the country.

“I’m incredibly excited about these changes and our affiliates will reap the benefits,” said ASRT Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Sal Martino, Ed.D., R.T.(R), FASRT, FASAE, CAE. “It’s going to have a positive impact on our state societies and it’s going to strengthen the profession across the board. We’re committed to making sure all our affiliates succeed, and this is another step in achieving that goal.”

ASRT is implementing the following changes to make it easier for affiliates to secure funding through the Affiliate Financial Assistance Program:

  • ASRT is going to pay for a comprehensive insurance package for every affiliate. The package will include directors and officers, employee dishonesty and general liability insurance. ASRT will assume the yearly premium expenses.
  • Remove the requirement that all affiliates must provide names of two alternate delegates for the House of Delegates to be eligible for the program.
  • Increase the minimum amount of program funding for affiliates from $4,000 to $5,000.

The ASRT Board of Directors approved the program at its June meeting prior to the 2018 ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting.

ASRT will provide more information about the program in the near future.
