Yes! The Blackbaud scholarship platform is designed to assist in determining all scholarships for which you may be eligible. You will be asked several questions. Based on your answers, the application will be entered into all eligible scholarship pools.
Entry-level applications are students in entry-level programs who have not yet passed any of the primary pathway registry exams (or equivalent).*
Professional-level applicants are students who have already attained certification from the ARRT or other equivalent certifying organization or have completed an entry-level program and are transitioning directly into further education in obtaining additional certification or academic degree.
*For entry-level applicants only: Student memberships are available to individuals who are enrolled in primary radiologic science programs or who have not received their initial certifications. Apply for a student membership today.
Your odds of being awarded a scholarship depend on the number of applicants qualified for the same scholarship. We receive an average of 450+ applications each year for approximately 65 scholarship awards. Please make sure that you read through the instructions carefully and spend time on your essay responses to ensure that you have the best possibility of receiving an award.

You may be awarded only one scholarship per year. If you qualify for more than one scholarship, you will receive the award with the highest dollar amount. Previous recipients are eligible to apply however, applicants are only eligible to win a specific scholarship twice.
If you disenroll, funds must be returned to the ASRT Foundation. You may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award; however, you program of study must remain related to a career in the radiologic sciences. Scholarships are not intended to assist and R.T. in switching career, including becoming a physician assistant or radiologist.
An independent panel, the Scholarship Review Committee, evaluates applications and assigns scores to each section of the application based on standardized criteria. The combined scores are ranked, and recipients are recommended to the Board of Trustees for final approval.
All awards are based on a combination of academic/professional achievements, essay content, financial need and professional recommendation.
All applicants are notified via email by June 1. Past experience indicates that emails sometimes are not received or are unsuccessfully delivered. Make sure you add [email protected] to your email address book or “safe senders list” so these important messages are not sent to your junk mail folder.
Be certain to provide the email address you check most often. If you are selected as an award recipient, you will be required to confirm the award. You will be sent an Award Offer email from the Blackbaud system and you will be required to log into your account to formally accept the award.

ASRT Foundation staff will work directly with the recipient’s school to determine the best method of payment. Scholarship funds will be disbursed either by direct deposit or check, depending on the school’s preference. The recipient will provide the school’s information during the post-acceptance process; it is important that this information is accurate. ASRT Foundation staff will communicate the chosen method of payment to the recipient immediately prior to disbursement.
Payments will be made to institution only. It is the recipient’s responsibility to notify the ASRT Foundation if there has been a change of address, or if funds are not received within 30 days of the disbursement date below:

Scholarship funds used exclusively for the payment of tuition and textbooks are normally not taxable. As a scholarship recipient, you are responsible for taxes, if any, that may be assessed against your scholarship award. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for more guidance.
Most radiography programs receive accreditation through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. In some cases, however, the Registry allows students who graduated from regionally accredited programs to sit for the radiography exam. Further accreditation information is available on the ARRT website.
List your first choice on the application. If you are chosen to receive an award, you will have a chance to change your school when you accept the award.
The purpose of our scholarship program is to help students earn a certificate or degree; therefore, scholarship funds are for tuition, fees and other expenses related to completing the educational program. Scholarship awards are made out to the school to be credited to the student’s account. We do not have any loan forgiveness programs at this time.
Our entry-level scholarships are based on the same criteria the U.S. government uses for federal student aid. You must be one of the following to receive federal student aid: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident who has a I-151, I-551 or I-551C (alien registration receipt card).
