Traditional Research Grant

The Traditional Research Grant supports new ideas and practices to strengthen the radiologic technology profession and help cultivate the next generation of researchers. These grants are awarded to medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals, funding up to $25,000.

Guidelines Initial Application

Eligibility

The principal investigator must be a voting ASRT member with at least two years of ASRT membership history and meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Be registered to practice in the U.S. in a primary modality
  • Hold an unrestricted state license

How to Apply

  1. Review the Research Grant Guidelines for complete eligibility, submission requirements and the award program timeline.
  2. Complete and submit the Traditional Research Grant Initial Application.

Application Submission Deadlines

The Foundation continually accepts initial applications, but submissions are considered for funding twice annually.

Which Research Proposals Get Funded?

  • Asks a research question that has significance or relevance to the medical imaging or radiation therapy profession
  • Is led by individuals who show evidence of being qualified to thoroughly investigate the proposed research question
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding and use of current study protocols, assurances and agreements
  • Shows evidence of awareness and understanding of similar research in the profession and seeks to build on the common body of literature
  • Presents and adheres to a reasonable and comprehensive budget
  • Provides sound methodology appropriate to the stated research question and hypothesis
