The ASRT Foundation has awarded $429,700 in scholarships to 104 recipients for the 2026-2027 academic year.
This year's recipients include practicing professionals working toward new certifications and degrees and entry-level students attending colleges and universities throughout the United States. The scholarships are funded through partnerships with corporations, nonprofit organizations and generous ASRT members and staff.
The newest scholarship offering is the Sal Martino Leadership Scholarship, named after former ASRT Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Sal Martino, Ed.D., R.T.(R), FASRT, FASAE, CAE. The scholarship was made possible by generous donations from longtime ASRT Foundation donors Joy Renner, M.A., R.T.(R), Jordan Renner, M.D., and Steven Hardy, M.S., R.T.(R)(T)(CT), CMD, ASRT Foundation chief operating officer and executive vice president of corporate relations, and ASRT members and staff.
“We are so grateful to offer one of the largest scholarship amounts to date thanks to the support of our donors, partners and members who help support current and future generations of radiologic technologists,” said Hardy.
The ASRT Foundation Scholarship Review Committee completed the application review process in February, and the ASRT Foundation Board of Trustees approved the applicants. Applicants were selected based on evidence of commitment, leadership, achievement and financial need.
